What is the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS)?

The PDRS rewards energy-efficient solutions that lower demand during peak periods. For every 0.1kW of demand reduction, a Peak Reduction Certificate (PRC) is generated. By installing approved battery systems, installation companies like yours can claim these certificates, making battery installs even more affordable for your customers.

For homeowners or businesses, incentives are calculated based on how much peak demand reduction the battery can offer.

Battery connection to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP)

There are extra incentives if your battery is connected to a VPP. This means the battery can help stabilise the grid during peak times, earning even more savings.

How do you qualify for the NSW Battery Incentives?

Who’s Eligible? Small businesses and homeowners

Battery size: Between 2kWh and 28kWh. You can install more than one battery if they hit this total.

Clean Energy Coucil Approved: The battery must be on the CEC’s approval list.

Solar System Required: The property needs to have solar or be installing solar at the same time.

VPP connection: For the VPP incentives, the battery must meet additional requirements, like specific warranty conditions and CEC standards.
